Clinical Tobacco Intervention (CTI) Program Training Information

  • Training programs meet continuing education requirements.

  • Training programs, dinner and materials are provided free of charge.
  • Content:

  • Techniques for brief interventions
  • Focus on the 5 A’s (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, Arrange) and Stages of Change
  • Preventing and coping with relapse
  • Pharmacotherapy options to assist with cessation
  • Tips for implementing CTI into the practice setting, including the role of support staff.
  • Format:

  • Training programs are offered in a multi-disciplinary format targeting physicians, pharmacists, dentists and support staff.
  • Presenters are specially trained practitioners who understand the demands and benefits of incorporating cessation counselling into daily practice
  • Funding is provided, in part, by the Government of Ontario.

No Show and Cancellation Policy:

No-Shows: For each registrant who does not attend a $25.00 administrative fee will be charged for each registrant to the credit card number provided on the registration form.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be received in writing (fax or email) at least 72 hours in advance of the workshop.
Cancellations received outside of this timeframe will be subject to an administrative fee of $25.00 for each registrant.

  • On-site registrations will not be accepted.
